Hampton Quarter has been celebrated at the 2025 Vic Apartment Awards for Excellence, securing recognition in both the Precinct Rejuvenation and Pioneering categories.
This challenging project, marked by its complexity, was executed with precision. Situated just six metres from the rail corridor, it required innovative structural design to mitigate derailment risks and involved the relocation of critical infrastructure, including a Digital Train Radio System tower and a bus interchange. Through meticulous coordination with stakeholders such as VicTrack, Homes Victoria, the Department of Transport and Planning, Bayside City Council, Metro Trains, Ventura, and the OVGA, a cohesive and compliant design was achieved—supported by a comprehensive four-year consultation and engagement program.
Construction began during the COVID era, resulting in four boutique buildings that harmoniously integrate with their environment. These structures feature sculptural forms inspired by coastal geology and interiors by Carr that capture a sophisticated beachside tranquility.
The development thoughtfully incorporates affordable housing, demonstrating a considerate and respectful approach that sets a new standard for challenging sites.
The outcome is a vibrant precinct that elevates housing delivery standards, and the judges believe it will serve as a catalyst for future redevelopment, setting a new benchmark for the area.
Congratulations to epc.Pacific, Pace Development Group, and ARM Architecture.
