Queensland apartment projects shine on the national stage

Queensland’s apartment sector has plenty to celebrate, with three standout entrants now set to represent the state at the National Apartment Awards in Melbourne on 21 August.

Leading the charge is Chevron Island Odyssey by Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities, which took out both the Ageing in Place and Innovation categories. The project impressed with its true integration of independent living, assisted living and high-care services—including dementia and palliative care—within a single community. Its dedicated “Memory Lane” level offers specialised support for residents experiencing cognitive decline, while couples can remain together even when their care needs differ. The pet-friendly community reinforces a holistic, human-centred approach to ageing that keeps connection, continuity and dignity at its core.

Brunswick & Co by Cox Architecture and Frasers Property Group was another major Queensland winner, claiming the Affordability, Pioneering and Best Amenities categories. As part of Queensland’s Build-to-Rent pilot project, the development delivers approximately 40 per cent of its 366 apartments as subsidised, below-market rental housing—without compromising on lifestyle. Residents enjoy 1,900 square metres of amenities, including a resort-style pool, dog park, co-working spaces, fitness studio, cinema room, library, podcasting areas and games zones.

Skye by Pikos Group also earned national recognition after winning the Luxury category, showcasing the strength and depth of Queensland’s apartment market across design, liveability and resident experience.

Queensland’s winning projects span affordability, innovation, ageing in place, luxury, boutique living, precinct rejuvenation and amenity-rich communities—highlighting a sector that is delivering homes for a wide range of residents and lifestyles.

Australian Apartment Advocacy said Queensland’s success reflected the state’s growing leadership in apartment design, delivery and community-focused living.
